Does anyone know the differnce between Enfamil Nutramigen and Similac Alimentum?
THe Dr. put my 1 week old son on Nutramigen becuz he had blood in his stool, dr said he was allergic to the milk protein. he doesn’t have blood any more. he is now 8 weeks old. The similac alimentum says its also for the milk sensitivity, its on sale so I was just wondering??? I know I need to consult his dr. but I was just wondering if any other mothers have any input

First answerer is wrong. Alimentum does NOT only come in liquid form. I used it for some time with my daughter and always bought it in the powder form.
The 2 formulas are basically the same, they are just a different brand. Just whatever your son takes to the best. I personally wouldn’t switch just because it is cheaper. Mainly because it can cause problems switching back and forth between 2 formulas. You know he does fine on the Enfamil, so I wouldn’t even worry about it.
They’re different. And alimentum is a lot more expensive because it only comes in liquid form, and is pre-made. Since nutramigen is powder it makes a lot more than alimentum. I do not know the difference but my son was on both and the alimentum did not work but the nutramigen did. He had colic or so they thought.
they are pretty much the same thing and made for the same purpose
just stick with the nutramigen if it is helping, sometimes a baby tolerates one better than the other so i wouldn’t switch if it were me
