how to help a baby screaming with colic?
My little boy is 7 weeks old and every evening from about 4pm til bath time (approx 6.30pm) he screams like he has bad wind but no amount of burping helps calm him. he is totally inconsolable.
any ideas what may help?
have tried tummy massage and bicycling his legs and lots of comfort.
yes he is breastfed. bath seems the only thing to calm him, but there’s only so early you can start the bedtime routine!!
have been using Infacol before every feed for the last week or so, but gave him a day off it yesterday. perhaps that was the problem, maybe it had time to work its way out his system??
gave him some cool boiled water at lunch time today and again at about 3pm -a little (only about 1oz in all) to help with constipation, so hopefully that will get to work soon on the colic also. thanks for all advice so far

my son also suffered from colic, then at 12 weeks it just stopped, just like that! unfortunately there is not much you can do except make them as comfortable as possible, honestly we tried, infacol, expensive anti colic bottles, rubbing his back with him in various positions, gently pushing up his legs, baths, baby massage, movement, ie pushing pram, pacing the floor, vibrating baby chair, we tried music, singing to him, he had a dummy, nothing actually helped, eventually we just had to swaddle him, lay him down and touch his face, hold his hand, until he drifted off to sleep exhausted, poor little thing, i know its difficult but it will pass!
my little girl was the same from about 5 weeks old she had really bad colic, we found colief in her bottle works it is expensive though, gripewater works just as well and is a lot cheaper. but failing all that try some good old sugar water, we found all three of those work, personally i would try sugar water first though as u just make it up then if that doesnt work gripe water as its the next cheapest.
