Which bottle is best??
I have been breastfeeding for two and a half months and I plan to go back to work, but I would like to know what bottle is most like the breast nipple and does not give the baby colic? WHat bottle is most like the breast??What do you all think about Avent and Soothie bottles? I like Soothie because it has a small nipple but I have heard Avent is better for not giving baby colic. What bottle did all you breastfeeding mothers like???

Playtex ventair was the only thing that worked well enough for us, although my daughter doesnt breast feed. All the other ones you have to take it out of her mouth every minute or 2 and let the bottle burp, and then start again. The ventair one you just keep going and going it wont get an air lock like the non vented ones do.
I agree with several other moms that said the Avent bottles- they are the only ones we have used and my son took to them easily. He had no trouble transitioning from breast to bottle for the few feedings he misses while I am at work. We haven’t had any trouble with gas, either. I like that the nipple on the bottles is wide at the bottom and a little bigger than some bottles I have seen my friends use. We use the size 2 nipples now (7 months old) but used the size 1 until about 4 or 5 months. Since he is used to breastfeeding, the larger holes in some of the nipples let too much milk in his mouth and he would get a little choked. Hope this helps! Good luck going back to work!
Alas, there is no ‘best’ bottle. Avent has been known to be best to prevent nipple confusion when breast feeding. None of them eliminate colic. Lots of women liked Dr. Browns but hate the cleaning. My cousin’s GF liked the Playtex drop ins (almost never had to burp the baby in her case). Most breastfeeding moms that I know used Avent, but likely because that is what is sold locally.
I used a mix of Avent and Nuk bottles with my first child, he didn’t seem to have a preference either way, but with my second I had to buy more Avent bottles as that is all he would drink from. As they both experienced gastric reflux I felt that the Avent anti-colic system was beneficial, it seemed to make them better. I think the shape is similar to the breast as well as it is quite large and rounded.
Sorry I haven’t heard of Soothie bottles.
The only nipple that either of my kids would take were the Gerber Nuk kind….specifically the latex ones, size one with the slow flow. It fits on a regular baby bottle, so I really didn’t run into a lot of expenses. Apparently those nipples are shaped more like your nipple is shaped during nursing.
