Nutramigen Archives

I have been feeding my baby with this special formula milk as she was found to be lactose intolerant a month after she was born. Since I put her on the stage 2 milk (at months age) she has not responded well to feeding. Rather she displays colic like symptom including thrashing around, tummy ache and more recently a very nasty rash.

Are there any mums using this milk whose babies have experienced similar problems?
I’ve also been told that Soya milk is not recommended for babies because it contains lots of oestrogen –
Is this true?

I know it’s lactose free, but is it actually a bit healthier for babies?… kind of like how Whole Foods is so expensive because it’s healthier and higher quality as opposed to, say, Safeway?

either way. good or bad. has anyone had a good or bad experience with it?….aside from how expensive it is…

my four month old is on nutramigen has been since he was one month old and now my dr wants me to try to switch him to emfamil prosobee soy formula i am scared hes going to get sick again he wants me to add one ounce in with the nutramigen and then see how he does and then gradually switch has anybody else switched this early was your baby ok im a little worried any comments would be great he also wants me to start giving him stage one foods how often do i give them to him thank you

Just wondering how old your baby was when he/she was put on either of these formulas, and if you use ready to feed or powder, and how they are doing or did on the formula. I will probably have to put my second daughter on a hypo formula because 1st daughter had milk protein sensitivity and baby #2 is showing same signs…I’m breastfeeding right now though for as long as I can (and I cut out dairy obviously!) Thanks

The first year of my child’s life I had him on Nutramigen for medical reasons. Now medical stopped paying and now he doesn’t want anything but Nutramigen. I have tried all sorts of milk but he doesn’t want anything…I have tried soy milk, whole milk, 2% milk anybody with this same problem please help. Anything that taste like it could also help. He’s 1 yr 7 months
he has good taste buds. he can taste the cow’s milk and he gives me the up right back lol

He is still having loose stools about 5-6 times a day and the rash is better but still there. Its not as red but still bumpy, almost like eczema. His Doc thinks he is allergic to soy…He was on Isomil since he was born. How long should it take for his symptoms to get better and for his stools to return to normal?

My friend bought me Enfamil Nutramigen instead of the similac online, and its a huge box of it, she didnt know that he had to be on Aliementum so i was wondering if i could mix the two? 1 scoop of nutramigen one of alimentum?
no b.s. about breasfeedings the best ik but my son is allergic to all milk products, he had bloody stools when i was breastfeeding

We had to switch our 7 week old to this formula and in about a day or two he started smiling and cooing A LOT!!! Do you think that it was because of the formula.

my baby is very colicky so dr put her on nutramigen lipil. how long does it take to work if it really does work? please tell me your experiances. my daughter was colicky since the day she was born she is now 1 month old.

My son was switched to this formula and let me tell ya he is twice as gassy and hes horribly fussy on this…. any ideals why.. i switched him back and now hes fine?

or is there a difference? Also is Neocate in the same category as the Nutramigen formulas? I’m clueless…lol. My son couldn’t tolerate Similac Advance or Nutramigen, gave him bloody diarrhea. So now he’s on Similac Isomil, but it’s made him miserably constipated. I want to do a bit of research on my own so we can discuss it at his next doctors appointment. Thanks a bunch :)

My 5 month old son is allergic to cows milk protien,I have him on Nutramigen but it smells awful and I was wondering if there was another brand that i could try?
He is also allergic to soy so that make it harder. He still only takes about 2 maybe 3 oz at a time,my pediatritian is aware of this and i see her every week,my son has a heart defect and has had 2 surgerys already, the doctors just have me adding more formula to the water but i still just feel so helpless that all he take in 24 hours is 14 oz on a bad day and 19 or 20 on a good day.I know this is a very low amount and the doctors know to but he is still gaining weight. He is a very active healthy baby otherwise i just cant understand how when he eats so little.
But thank you for suggesting soy.
