Bottles for Colic Relief Archives

Has anyone ever had a baby with colic? If so, what did they do and how long did they cry? What are your solutions for soothing them? Did you change formulas or bottles? I need help!
oh… and when does it go away?

Hi i have a 11 month old little girl who is breastfeed and has one bottle at night before bed as i found that she sleeps all night that way.

Im going on holiday and am still breastfeeding but i will need to give her bottle at night still but I have been using Dr Brown colic ones but when we get back from hols im stopping breastfeeding to get her ready for her new brother or sister who will need them lol.

I guess i was just wondering if anyone has any advice on what bottles to use or do i just give her milk in her cup like i give her water in.

Sorry first time mum

Thank you for any advice
Sorry i dont think i made myself clear she does have a sippy cup for her water and a bottle just before bed which is once a day.

So do i give her bedtime bottle in her sippy cup

have you used the ventair bottles and do you like them and recommend them? did they reduce colic for your baby? thankyou and blessings

I have been Using the Playtex Ventaire bottle but stopped using them because I didn’t think they did much good.
Then I bought the Avent Bottle because they said their good for kids with colic
Now im currently using the Dr Browns but very time consuming to clean

Which one from personal experience is best for a baby with colic

I use Dr. Brown and they are very good for my son because they reduce colic, and he actually doesn’t have gas very often from these. But, I am soooo tired of washing these bottles. I’ve seen the avent BPA Free, that also reduce colic, and are used with liners that are thrown away after each use. Is anytone using these, and do they work as far as making the baby less colic?
Shelby’s momma, how do you push the air out ? I guess I wouldn’t know since I have not used these yet.

hes gettin gassy and colic we got him playtex ventair ones

We are fixing to have another baby and we were wondering which baby bottles would be better for the baby. We both used plain bottles with our other children. And my oldest son had problems with colic, and I don’t want this baby to go through that. So I just wondered what would be better.

I just recieved this type of gripe water. (all natural)When i gave it to my son he spit it up along with his bottle that he had just drank. There was milk everywhere. (did i use it wrong?) I asked my pediatrician about colic calm and she knew nothing. All she said was that its homeopathic and shes not familiar with that. I have a son that has colic..Ive never had to deal with this.. Ive put him on the washing machine and thats about the only thing that works. Along with the new formula(nutramigen) hes taking now. I just have trouble sleeping. He falls asleep in my arms and when i go to lay him down he wakes up 10 mins. later. Does anyone have any sugestions…. Im loosing a lot of sleep.. I get about 2-3 hrs a night. and with a 2 yr old, thats not good…I need to be alert for my 2yr old also… any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance..

I am pregnant with my second child and I am looking at the Dr.Brown’s bottle this time around. For my daughter I used ADVENT and I liked them but she had colic and she spit up so much and I have read reviews for Dr.Brown’s and it’s really in between. I want to know what you other mothers think of them. I know they are expensive and there are a lot of pieces to clean but I think it would be worth it.

I am going to be a first time Mom when my baby comes in March. I don’t know which brand of bottle is better. I like the NUK bottles because of the nipple shape but I like Dr. Brown’s for the benefits it has for colic. I need to know which brand to put on my baby registry.

She’s healthy, she’s happy most all of the day. Sleeps well, but she just started this routine with the crying and fighting with the bottle.

We burp her well during and after feedings. We have been giving her gas drops when she seems too uncomfortable.
She is on breast milk only. Nursing and from the bottle.
We are already implimenting the 5 S’s. This is our 2nd child. The first one developed colic at this age also, but more much worse.

I have been breastfeeding for two and a half months and I plan to go back to work, but I would like to know what bottle is most like the breast nipple and does not give the baby colic? WHat bottle is most like the breast??What do you all think about Avent and Soothie bottles? I like Soothie because it has a small nipple but I have heard Avent is better for not giving baby colic. What bottle did all you breastfeeding mothers like???

My baby is still seriously gassy even being on alimentum getting mylicon 0.6 with every bottle and then colic calm when even the mylicon can’t help his gas. When will this start to ease up and what should i do or change.

He has already been on the similac advance, sensitive and soy.

I have Dr brown’s bottles their great for the colic but bad with leaks. They wet everything in my diaper bag and on the bed. I’ve tried everything you name it. I don’t fill it past the line (even after mixing the formula). Not tightening the cap too loose or too tight. Checking if there’s milk inside the straw. Checking if the nipple is crooked. Putting the plastic circle cover under the nipple. EVERYTHING! It’s really frustrating, so I just need suggestions on the best leak proof bottles. Not more ideas about what I could try with the Dr brown’s I refuse to use those anymore thanks.

On a consistent basis, my 2 month old will take the first 1-2 ounces easily, but then will squirm and cry. I burp him and try to continue the feed, but he just cries and refuses the bottle. He is close to 13 pounds and I can’t imagine that he is full from 2 ounces (especially since it happens during most feedings during the day). If he fusses like this, I try to distract him and change his diaper and sometimes am able to get him to drink more, and sometimes finish the bottle, while he is lying on his back on the changing table. The only time that he doesn’t fuss at the bottle is when he is half asleep. I wouldn’t be concerned about this if it only happened once or twice a day, but it happens at the majority of the feedings. It is so frustrating and the whole feeding process lasts a long time. I don’t want to force him to eat if he is full, but since it happens so often, I feel like there is another reason for the crying. Anyone else experience this, and know what is going on?
